Motivated by her desire to optimize the
parent/child relationship to perform at its
best, The Progressive Parent was founded in
2005 by Connie Hammer, whose individual
background includes twenty years of
experience in the field of social work with
children and families. She is certified as
a parent coach with the Parent Coaching
Institute (PCI) of Bellevue, Washington as
well as a Certified Stepfamily Coach through
the Step-Family Foundation, Inc. in New
York.
She has twelve years of professional
experience working in the field of education
as a school counselor, as well as previous
employment with the state of Maine social
services. She also established a successful
social service agency for the prevention of
child abuse and betterment of families known
as Healthy Kids in Damariscotta, Maine.
She is the proud parent of three sons and a
step-daughter now grown into adulthood.
Having earned undergraduate and graduate
degrees in social work focusing entirely on
children and families she is more than
skilled in assisting you in creating a
present and a future that optimizes the
potential of you and your child.
Connie’s background enables her to offer
quality parent coaching programs that
address personal growth in all aspects
relevant to parenting. She is dedicated to
working with individuals that have a high
commitment to achieving their goals offering
exceptional, in-person and telephone parent
coaching programs that address an array of
parental concerns.
